The Cayman Islands Boxing Association Ltd (CIBA) would like to thank Head Coach Trumpet for his contributions to CIBA over the last two years. While limited by the impact of the global pandemic, his contributions during his tenure have been very positive, growing the national team to include many fresh-faced novice boxers who were able to compete for the first time at CIBA's Fight Night in March 2021. Coach Trumpet's most significant achievement representing the Cayman Islands was the performance at the December 2019 Caribbean Championships in Trinidad & Tobago where boxers Jaden Eccleston, Jon-Mikol Rankin, and Theodore Kelly Jr all medaled in their first
regional competition and Brandy Barnes, the most experienced
international boxer in the national programme, also medaled in her
third foray at that tournament.
As with any corporate entity, CIBA must make appropriate decisions in the entity's best interests, taking into account many different business factors. CIBA maintains appropriate corporate governance including multiple avenues for amateur boxers to provide their input and have a voice. These include having an athlete representative elected to the Board of Directors and encouraging boxers to become voting members of CIBA. After consultation with multiple amateur boxing stakeholders, which included athlete and staff representation, CIBA has decided to pursue a new strategic direction. As such, it was decided not to renew Coach Trumpet's permit at this time.
CIBA will continue its mandate to instill positive values in Cayman’s youth through the sport of boxing. Over the last quadrennial, CIBA has expanded significantly due to its commitment to its core objectives which are: national team growth via expanded youth and school programmes and increasing developmental opportunities; behavioral intervention and bespoke outreach programmes; and development of Caymanian coaches and officials. CIBA's plans over the latter part of 2021 include an exciting project in the works to bring boxing to Cayman Brac, as well as increased collaboration with youth organizations such as 'ARK'.

We are very pleased to announce that Floyd Moxam and Theodore Kelly will be assisting us with our 6:00a.m. Adult Box Fitness sessions starting Friday April 23rd.

Theodore Kelly is no stranger to the gym nor our fitness classes and has represented the Cayman Islands and the Association very proudly at the Caribbean Championships tournament were he was the silver medalist of the tournament. He is a certified CIBA's coach who has coached our youths at our Extended After-school Boxing Program on the fundamentals of boxing, he is a full lieutenant in the Cayman Islands Regime, and a personal trainer who is very enthusiastic about fitness and boxing on a whole.

Another familiar face to our 6a.m. is Floyd Moxam who started his boxing career in the boxing program almost 20 years ago. He competed in boxing, kickboxing, jiu jitsu and mixed martial arts. He has obtain the gold medal at the UFC Grapplers Quest and the Gold medal in the North American Grappling Association Florida Championship. He is undefeated in Pro MMA 1-0 and undefeated in kickboxing 4-0. He is also the founder of the Cayman Fight Factory and have been coaching fighters for 9 years to compete internationally in MMA and Jiu Jitsu

Another Boxing Camp we seh!!!!

Parents bring your kids out this Easter to the D. Dalmain Boxing Gymnasium for our Easter Boxing Camp which is sure to be a fun fit event.

If your child is not a registered after-school student with us, fees do apply. Please ensure your child brings, a lot of water, proper clothing/shoes, morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack as this is an all day event. Water and Gatorade will also be for sale. So come on out as we'll be waiting for ya.
